Layla is a 4-star Cryo character in Genshin Impact who mainly uses a sword as her weapon. Her primary role is to support her team during battles. Her Elemental Skill, “Nights of Formal Focus,” is a key part of her abilities. This skill creates a shield that deals AoE Cryo damage. It also generates Night Stars and Shooting Stars, with one appearing every 1.5 seconds, each dealing Cryo damage.
Her Elemental Burst, “Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker,” creates a Celestial Dreamsphere surrounded by Night Stars and deals AoE Cryo damage.

Nights of Formal Focus
The character creates a shield called the Curtain of Slumber, dealing AoE Cryo DMG. The shield’s damage absorption is based on her maximum HP and absorbs Cryo DMG with 250% effectiveness. When activated, the shield briefly applies Cryo to the character.
Night Stars and Shooting Stars
While the shield is active, it generates 1 Night Star every 1.5 seconds. When a character protected by the shield uses an Elemental Skill, 2 Night Stars will be created. These can be produced once every 0.3 seconds, with a maximum of 4 Night Stars at a time.
Once the shield has gathered all 4 Night Stars and there are nearby enemies, the Night Stars transform into homing Shooting Stars that deal Cryo damage to opponents they hit. If the shield ends or is destroyed, any remaining Night Stars vanish. However, if the Shooting Stars are already in motion, they will continue until the wave of shots is finished. New Night Stars can only be created once the previous Shooting Star wave has been completed.
Elemental Burst
Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker
The character unleashes a Celestial Dreamsphere that continuously fires Starlight Slugs at enemies within its AoE, dealing Cryo damage. Each time a Starlight Slug hits an enemy, it generates 1 Night Star for nearby Curtains of Slumber. Each Curtain of Slumber can receive 1 Night Star every 0.5 seconds in this way.

While the Curtain of Slumber is active, the Deep Sleep effect triggers each time the shield gains a Night Star. This effect boosts the shield strength of any character protected by the Curtain of Slumber by 6%. The effect can stack up to 4 times and lasts until the Curtain of Slumber disappears.

This shield absorbs 35% of the absorption value of the Curtain of Slumber, lasts for 12 seconds, and absorbs Cryo DMG with 250% effectiveness.

This effect boosts their Normal and Charged Attack damage by 5% of the character’s maximum HP. Dawn Star lasts for up to 3 seconds and is removed 0.05 seconds after dealing Normal or Charged Attack damage.
