Hu Tao Artifacts Desc
For Hu Tao, some excellent artifact sets include the 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames set, which is considered the best option. This set’s 2-piece bonus increases Pyro damage, while the 4-piece bonus enhances reaction damage, specifically boosting the damage of Overloaded, Burning, Vaporize, and Melt reactions.
Another good choice is the 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence set. The 2-piece bonus increases ATK, and the 4-piece bonus significantly boosts Charged, Plunging, and Normal Attack damage by 50% when the Elemental Skill is triggered.
If you don’t have access to these sets, the 4-piece Marechaussee Hunter set is a viable alternative.
Hu Tao Weapons Desc
Hu Tao’s signature weapon is the Staff of Homa, which is the best choice for her. It provides a huge boost to Basic ATK and Crit DMG. The standout feature of this weapon is that it also increases her HP and grants an attack bonus based on her HP.
If you don’t have the Staff of Homa, a good alternative is the Staff of the Scarlet Sands. This 5-star weapon offers a high Crit Rate and decent Basic ATK stats, and it converts Elemental Mastery into Attack.
Additionally, you can consider several 4-star weapons, such as Ballad of the Fjords, Dragon’s Bane, and Lithic Spear, which are also viable options for Hu Tao.

Hu Tao Overview
Hu Tao is a 5-star Pyro character in Genshin Impact who uses a polearm weapon in battles. Her abilities focus on her Elemental Skill, “Guide to Afterlife,” which converts all attack damage into Pyro damage, increasing her overall damage output. You can also boost her attacks based on her maximum HP.
However, activating her Elemental Skill comes with a drawback: it reduces her current HP by 30%. Despite this, it’s still valuable because the cooldown is only 16 seconds. With her Blood Blossom passive, Hu Tao can perform a charged attack that applies Pyro damage to enemies.
When Hu Tao’s HP is at or below 50%, her Pyro damage bonus increases by 33%, thanks to her Sanguine Rouge passive talent. Her Elemental Burst unleashes a spinning attack that deals significant Pyro damage to nearby enemies.

Normal Attack
Performs up to six consecutive spear strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.

Elemental Skill
Guide to Afterlife
Hu Tao’s Elemental Skill, Guide to Afterlife, allows her to use a portion of her HP to push back nearby enemies and enter a special state called Paramita Papilio.
Paramita Papilio
Increases Hu Tao’s ATK based on her Max HP at the time of entering this state. ATK Bonus gained this way cannot exceed 400% of Hu Tao’s Base ATK.
Converts attack DMG to Pyro DMG, which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion.
Charged Attacks apply the Blood Blossom effect to the enemies hit.
Increases Hu Tao’s resistance to interruption.
Blood Blossom
Enemies affected by Blood Blossom will take Pyro DMG every 4s. This DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG. Each enemy can be affected by only one Blood Blossom effect at a time, and its duration may only be refreshed by Hu Tao herself.
Paramita Papilio ends when its duration is over, or Hu Tao has left the battlefield or fallen.
Elemental Burst
Spirit Soother
Commands a blazing spirit to attack, dealing Pyro DMG in a large AoE.
Upon striking the enemy, regenerates a percentage of Hu Tao’s Max HP. This effect can be triggered up to 5 times, based on the number of enemies hit.
If Hu Tao’s HP is below or equal to 50% when the enemy is hit, both the DMG and HP Regeneration are increased.

This effect activates automatically when she has only 1 HP remaining and can occur once every 60 seconds.
